LSARRC News 21st November 2017

Graham Webster at the Myprotein Preston 10 mile Road Road
Sunday 19th November saw the Myprotein Preston 10-mile Road Race which included the Lancashire 10-mile championship, take place.  The fast, flat 2 lap course with almost perfect conditions, cool and no wind resulted in some exceptional performances by Lytham runners, several personal bests were achieved and it was the best performance of the club to date at this event.  LSARRC runners ran superbly and came away the Lancashire 10 mile men’s team champions and Lancashire 10 mile women’s team champions.  Graham Webster ran a great race and was the 1st V65 runner, making him 10 mile Lancashire champion and gold medalist.  Graham also set a new MV65 club record at the race, his time beat the previous record of 1:27:51 by 19.24 seconds which was a huge improvement.  This is the 6th club MV65 record Graham has broken since turning 65 in April.  Neil Tate knocked off 59 seconds off his personal best, other personal bests were achieved by Kirsten Burnett, Jennifer Hill, Gill Draper, Thomas Howarth and Darran Ames.  Well done to all involved.
