GOLD FOR BARBARA HOLMES IN ROTTERDAM.

Congratulations to Barbara Holmes who became Sprint Distance Triathlon World Champion (F55-59) held in Rotterdam on 17th September.  Barbara retained her title having won in 2016 in Cozumel.  The race included a 750m swim in Rinjnhaven dock, a 20k technical bike (crossing 3 landmark bridges), and a 5k run in Het Park.  After 4 days of solid rain the competitors were lucky with a warmer, dry race day.  Barbara won the F55-59 category of 53 ladies in times of 11:57 (swim), 38:04 (bike) and 21:32 (run).

At the Lytham Hall Park parkrun on Saturday 23rd September there were 17 Lytham members who ran the course.  Andrew Draper finished first in a time of 17:54 and Susan Samme was the second female runner, overall 11th position in 21:11.  Laura Bremner gained a new PB of 21:40 and was 19th overall and 4th female.

Neil Tate ran the Blackpool park run and came 2nd in 18:39, and Jennifer Hill ran a new pb of 21:57.  Kevin Murray ran the Dunfermline parkrun and completed the course in 24:00.
The Run Preston event retuned to the City on Sunday 24th September 2017.  The event started with a 10k run at 09.00am.  The 5k run at 10.00am and the 2k run at 1.00pm. in Avenham Park.

Four Lytham runners completed the 10k course.  Melanie Koth came 3rd in her age group (vet 40) in 45:32 146th overall, Kathy Gaunt 49:03 249th overall, 20th lady, 1st V50, Ian Balshaw 1:00:17 662 overall and Christine Walker 1:00:47 678 overall, 678 overall, 172 lady, 32nd lady V45.

Nineteen junior members of LSARRC took park in the Preston 2k and 5k run.  In the 5k Morgan Pritchard came 20th in 22:38, Emily Balshaw ran the course in 23:17 to come 24th, Sydney Ramsden was 56th in 25:01 and Lucy Bohanon came 79th in 27:02.

The Preston 2k run wasn’t timed but the following juniors completed the course: George Deyne, Jessica Ramsden, Reef Breakell, Billy Breakell, Eric Wrigley, Emily Wrigley, Amara Thorpe, Clemmie Tierney, Ella Wiseman, Lioma Bielec, Rosa Bilec, Archie Tate, Sebbie koth-Wragg, and Charlie Ormerod.

At the junior Park View Parkrun in Lytham Jayden Richardson ran the course in 9:13, Rebecca Fisher gained a new pb of 10:06, Charlotte Fisher ran 10:10 and Sophie Tate completed the course in 13:00.
